Okay, so after Prague we hopped an EasyJet plane to Milan. Sounds great, right? We circled the Milan Malpensa airport for 45 minutes waiting for a storm to clear enough to land. Then took a bus and underground to get to our apartment. It was a really cute one bedroom in the Lambrate area. By the time we checked in and settled, it was 6ish so we went to a local pub around the corner for "Happy Hour" - so dinner turned into beers and hors d'oeuvres while people watching.
The next morning we headed to the Duomo. What a great place for taking pictures! We bought tickets to go up the elevator so we could see Milan from the top of the Duomo. I think I took in excess of 100 pictures from up there. Truly beautiful. I had a long conversation with one of the guards up there - and reminded him what a terrific view he had while working. He laughed and agreed.
After about two hours of photography, we went for lunch at a little bistro down the street. It's really nice to sit down and have a drink and relax. I think I've eaten my weight in gnocchi since we got to Europe. So much better here in Milan, though.
After lunch we headed up to the Castle. Again we had the cameras going. Pretty grounds. We will be back in Milan for one more day - Sunday, August 3 - then returning home from there.
Ciao.
